This Saturday 9/16 Kyle Petty will share his love for old Hollywood with us on Turner Classic Movies. He will discuss his favorite 4 movies and tell us why he loves them so much. Apparently he is into film noir. Here are the 4 he loves: Freaks (1932), Grand Prix (1966), D.O.A. (1950), and Casablanca (1942).
Freaks wow, have you’ve seen this one? It’s a bizarre movie, but good. It’s a little disturbing and I think that Hollywood would not get away with a movie like this today. It wouldn’t be politically correct. The movie is about “Circus Freaks.” All the Circus Freaks live by a code and one of their own, a woman trapeze artist violates the code when she plots to kill her midget husband. I won’t ruin the movie for you, but if you haven’t seen it, watch it, it will freak you out–no pun intended.

Grand Prix—no kidding? This is a racer’s type film. The movie is about a legendary European road race, throw some romance, and danger into the mix and you got your self a guy and chick flick rolled into one!
D.O.A.–imagine you were poisoned and you had to track down your killer before you died. This is the quintesential film noir–a must see.
Casablana–need I write anything about this one? I didn’t think so.
Movies will start 12:00 PM EST this Saturday visit tcm.com for more info.
