How can we forget the famous line “Here’s looking at you kid.” Every time I see that part of the movie I am moved to pieces. Suddenly Rick (Humphrey Bogart) doesn’t seem cynical and harden. Let’s understand that Casablanca is not just a wartime love story. O.K. it’s romantic, but it’s also mysterious, intriguing and funny. The movie had a message, which still resonates today. It dealt with issues of liberation, duty, sacrifice, and even threw politics to the mix. It’s a timeless movie. Many have tried to emulate it and have failed–there is only one Casablanca.
