They are completely missing the point of the story. I have always seen DH as an allegory for the futility of fighting crime in modern society. It's not about race or fascism. It's about the fuzzy line between good and evil and the men we ask to walk that line to protect us. Harry is flawed, the police department is flawed, the laws are flawed...society is flawed! I have no time for people who don't get it!! ;-) Just my opinion! Well, my personal take on it is this; those who see Dirty Harry as racist or fascist, etc. display only their own ignorance.
