Today’s political atmosphere is one of political correctness. It is just this political correctness that will be our demise. This classic Red Skelton Show clip is one that every American, and especially those in Congress, should view. I remember being in grade school and each morning we pledged to old glory. And I remember feeling warm and fuzzy inside when I did. A young, mushy brain understood the pride behind our flag. In my home we all felt proud. My parents immigrated to America back in the 60′s. Like every emigrant that came to America, my parents wanted better for their children. They taught us the value of being in America. Being an American was not something to be taken for granted. I am glad my parents taught me that. It is something that has stayed with me. How is it that so many today have forgotten the true meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance? Watch this clip and be reminded of what it used to mean.
